Three months ago the prestigious force then known as Finnish Royalty teamed up with Excello to represent the organisation in Counter-Strike: Source. The team has sticked together with the five original members for a while now, but has now encountered a need for change. Marko 'owa' Mattila will be replaced by another truly experienced Finn, Olli-Matti 'delonge' Vehkalahti, as owa did not share similar views concerning the team's future with the rest of the team. A statement by the new Excello player, Olli-Matti 'delonge' Vehkalahti:Attending winter assembly with a mixteam brought back my interest and hunger for the game. I knew the only way I would get back was with a topteam, and i feel extremely lucky to be able to join Excello as such. I look forward to competing at the highest level again with these guys. A statement from the team captain, Juha 'aNGeldusT' Kurppa:The teams and Owa's objectives in game differed too much, so we had to start thinking about alternatives. We had a shortlist of players to replace Owa and finally decided that the best person for the job would be mr. Olli-Matti "delonge" Vehkalahti. The team wishes Marko all the best in his future endeavours and gladly welcomes Olli-Matti on board.
It was announced yesterday by the compLexity administration some surprising news. Jeff "Hero" Mettetal was dropped from the Counter-Strike 1.6 roster being replaced by former x3o, Gravitas and Turmoil member Derrick "Impulsive" Truong.
After last nights blow out victory over Blight cs, excello.ZOWIE will look to continue their success taking on Loaded CS tonight. Last night was Excello's first match of the season on de_dust2, and boy did they look convincing. After winning the first half in convincing fashion (12-3), Excello did not look back and went on to win 16-3. Tonight Excello will take on a second to last Loaded squad. Loaded is a big surprise this season. Unfortunately for all of the wrong reasons. Loaded was expected to be a front runner this season, especially with their pickup of ex-compLexity awper, Scott "evolution" Cavallero. Unfortunately however, Loaded is currently sporting a 2-6 record, good enough to only earn them 11th place. Although the standings might make you think otherwise, Loaded is still a team Excello should be wary of. The majority of the Loaded roster has played for powerhouse organizations such as compLexity, EG, and x3o back when x3o was a top Counter-Strike team in the United States. These players still know how to make it happen, and they are not by any means washed-up. This should be a much closer match than last night folks! excello.ZOWIE vs. Loaded CS Date/Time: Wednesday, January 19th at 8:00 PM EST Map: de_dust2 HLTV: TBA Result: TBD
Tonight excello.ZOWIE's #1 spot is put on the line as they will go up against Blight cs in an ESEA Invite Regular Season match on de_dust2. excello.ZOWIE has been leading the North American Counter-Strike scene for the majority of the season, and they will look to continue their 5 match win streak tonight. Blight cs currently stands in the middle of the pack with a 4-4 record. Although they were just barely able to beat teams such as undertow, they did pull wins over really solid teams such as YummY and 9StorM. This is certainly a worthy opponent that excello.ZOWIE can not underestimate. With Evil Geniuses right on their heels, excello.ZOWIE will not be able to afford to drop this match if they want to take the #1 spot into the ESEA Playoffs. You can look forward to a great match tonight! excello.ZOWIE vs. Blight csDate/Time: Tuesday, January 19th at 11:30 PM ESTMap: de_dust2HLTV: TBAResult: TBD

Excello's fresh all-Finnish Counter-Strike: Source lineup is currently attending Lantrek, which is held at Ylöjärvi, Finland. The venue of the LAN serves as a home for over three hundred gamers and PC-enthusiasts over the weekend, providing it's visitors with content ranging from various gaming competitions to fast graph showdowns. Each and every Counter-Strike: Source team in attendance is undoubtly pursuing the grand prize of 1000 euros, as it is the only money prize handed out to Lantrek CS:Source competitors. The Lantrek prize distribution clearly favors the winners, as the prize for a second place is a bunch of product prizes worth approximately 400 euros, while the third-place finishers are promised a consolidation prize. Our Counter-Strike: Source team has already played their first match of the tournament at the group stages. Pitted against RCTIC eSports, Excello managed to secure an easy victory of 16-3 over their opponents. It was a tough Thursday night for the boys at excello.ZOWIE. Excello was the team to beat after three weeks of ESEA Invite and coming into the fourth week many trained their eyes on Excello to see if they could continue their winning ways. After scheduling a double header for Thursday night, the boys had to go out and prove their worth. It was a night full of problems however. First excello.ZOWIE went up against Exigent. Sure Exigent are currently the last place team in ESEA Invite, however you can never underestimate a team, especially in a division that houses only the best teams in North America. Unfortunately there were many issues that caused the match to be delayed, including having to get the server situation sorted out, and CJ "cj_b" Banarsee lagging out every other second. Finally we were able to get the match underway and although playing 4 v 5 for most of the match, Excello was able to pull out a massive victory over an underperforming Exigent team.Excello's next match was against the west coast all-star team of YummY. excello.ZOWIE could only expect a tougher match, and this it proved to be. The match was very close with Excello pulling out a 16-14 victory. This match showed how t-sided the map of de_lite is. Results: excello.ZOWIE > Exigent 16:1 excello.ZOWIE > YummY 16:14

After a very successful Week 3 on de_train where excello.ZOWIE was able to "upset" North American powerhouse teams Evil Geniuses and compLexity, you will be able to follow the team in yet another, double-header. Excello is currently the team to beat leading the North American Counter-Strike 1.6 scene with a 5-1 record in the nations premier league ESEA Invite. This week Excello will go up against YummY and Exigent on ESEA's own custom map, de_lite. If Excello will be able to grab these 2 wins, they will truly establish themselves as one of North America's top 3 teams. A 7-1 record in the premier league of North American Counter-Strike will go miles to propel them to new levels.excello.ZOWIE vs. YummY Date/Time: Thursday, January 13th / 20:30 Eastern Standard Time Map: de_lite HLTV: TBA Result: TBD excello.ZOWIE vs. Exigent Date/Time: Thursday, January 13th / 23:00 Eastern Standard Time Map: de_lite HLTV: TBA Result: TBD Read more for pregame write-ups!!!

The ESL has announced they will be holding a small, 4 team tournament to determine which team will take the last slot to compete in the European Championship Finals. After SoA announced that the organization has disbanded the spot opened up. It was originally believed that p00nhandlers will take over the spot, however ESL has stated that this will not be the case. Instead, there will be a tournament with the prize being the final spot to the European Championship. The tournament looks to be an exciting one even though it lacks a cash prize. Thursday night proved to be a busy, long, exciting, and successful night for Excello's Counter-Strike 1.6 team. Heading into Week 3 of the ESEA Invite Regular Season, Excello had only one loss and was looking to itself as a serious North American contender. Excello got drawn to play traditional North American powerhouse teams Evil Geniuses and compLexity in the same week however. Although a tough draw, the boys made the best out of this situation and practiced hard especially for this week. The results showed and Excello pulled out 2 major wins to secure a first place standing after the third week of ESEA-Invite.
Yesterday the Lemondogs organization announced the addition of a new Counter-Strike 1.6 team. After losing their Swedish team to H2K-Gaming, now much has been heard from Lemondogs. Today this changes with very surprising news.
