After team oGs was constantly losing their Stars, especially Kim 'SuperNoVa' oGs was nearly without top players. But the main reason was that the eSports Holding, the official Sponsor, discontinued the partnership with the team in order to be more focused on the League of Legends scene. All player's contracts had been cancelled. Unsure is where the TeamLiquid team will live from now on because they used to live in the oGs Team House in Korea. Time will show, if the team will be regrouped under a different name someday. However, it seems his recent achievements made him reconsider his position. Stephano repeatedly said going to Korea to practice was not a priority. Yet, now that he has a code S spot secured, he said he will take the chance to compete in the GSL.He will be the second foreigner in the upcoming GSL code S, together with Naniwa. He is set to depart for Korea in the upcoming weeks and all the foreign community will be looking forward to his games.
For a lot of MYM fans this news should be interesting. The old MYM lineup is now together again in Dota 2. It's now in the roster of Eclypsia, a new organization who only generated attention in StarCraft II, yet. Link was kicked out of the old Quantic roster and replaced by the teams old mate PlaymatE. Statement by Brian 'MaNia' Strandby:The ultimate dream for all dota2 players out there, is the chance to play dota2 for a living and fully being able to concentrate on the game itself. His famous signature heroes are Puck, Akasha, Troll Warlord, Lanaya and Ursa warrior, he is noone other than the professional malaysian Dota player Chai ‘Mushi’ Yee Fung. He is also humble, cute, funny, hillarious, friendly and hardworking. Q: How did you come up with the name “ Mushi “ ?Mushi : " Last time my nick is Mushi.Lushi ~ After I get a sponsor, I cant put such long name anymore, therefore I shorten it to Mushi. For many months, everyone has been waiting for an answer to Valve's Dota 2. Is it going to be free to play or pay to play? Hours ago in an interview with Seven Day Cooldown, Valve has confirmed that Dota 2 will be free to play."It's going to be free-to-play -- it'll have some twists, but that's the easiest way for people to think about it," Newell said.As some of you maybe heard, Dota 2 has some indicators already implemented which give a hint about something like an ingame shop were you probably can buy new skins for a few characters or similar. But till yet there is no official statement about it.Source : In-Game shop , Verge
Toby "TobiWankenobi " Dawson has arrived in Seattle,USA. He will be touring and working with valve for 1 week. As we speak today it is his 1st day in valve. He reveals some information about valve that 1 hero will be out tonight. TobiWanKenobi statements in Seattle :" Hey all, I arrived safely in Seattle and was able to rest up last night. I am writing this as I am about to go to sleep after my first day at the Valve office, and really just wanted to share a little bit of my experience with you. Obviously I cannot say much and cannot show much but I was able to take some pictures at non-revealing angles, but it is better than nothing.I met the whole crew at Valve and spent a lot of time with the development team of Dota 2 (played some games on the internal client as well). It is amazing to see the creation process of all the different stages of the development of the game, and not only the talent of the staff but the vibe and energy they have and how the put that into their work. These people love Dota 2, they love their job, and I am sure we all feel that passion with each patch released.I will give you more updates soon, and hopefully some more pics from different areas of Valve, and will see if I can get the holy grail shot, the picture of Icefrog's desk (no promises)."Source : joindota

For those who have not heard about Team Sypher before, they are a growing structure from Belgium which first made itself a name with WarCraft III and now turned to League of Legends.Last week-end took place the Gamers-Assembly where our players ended 4th. There we could see a great performance of Team Sypher, a team that most of the big teams did not expect at all. During the whole tournament, they only lost a single map to Counter Logic Gaming in the semi-finals of the upper bracket. They have shown a great performance all week-end long and great teamplay. Nonetheless, after their win against CLG.eu we could see they shout like hell due to such an happiness. Some could say it is a proof of them being a newly born team; true - but it clearly shows aswell that they are capable of beating the finest European teams. And that's what they did.During the Grand Final, a Sypher's computer crashed and took 20 minutes to be replaced. Meanwhile, the AbsoluteLegends players remained clearly focused in their game while their opponent had taken away their headphones and started to have fun and trolling with the public. One could say again that this is unprofessional, but they still won it!As a consequence, Moopz was declared the tournament's Most Valuable Player and came back home with the €4,500 cheque for the first place, and an awesome MSI laptop.
MiTH and Moscow Five - the two big, popular teams have travelled to India to try their luck at the first, highly endowed Indian LAN, the India Gaming Carnival. They set out to fight for the $300,000 prizes but then they had to suffer from strange circumstances.Moscow Five for example fought their way into the semifinals. But then, suddenly, the orginizators shut down the event for unknown reasons. The team decided to move back to Russia instantly but then the next incident arrives. An, at first, unknown man followed them in a taxi and told them that the organizators are not involved in the shut down of the tournament. He offered the team $14,000 if they didn't publish the recordings of the shutdown incident and of all of the circumstances. The manager of M5, Dima 'ddd1ms' Smeliy recorded a short Interview with this man, called Kushagara, director of WTF Eventz which organized the event. But then later in the hotel room someone broke in M5's rooms and stole a bunch of money and the USB-stick where parts of the recordings were stored.M5 announced a live stream on Friday where they will try to tell to story by themselves and answer questions in Russian and English. There was also MiTH, who had some bad experiences at the IGC, too. They sent 21 people to this event to compete in 4 games - DotA, Battlefield 3, FIFA and StarCraft II. Unfortunately only the tournaments in DotA and FIFA went ahead, whereas the other tournaments were cancelled due to PC problems. Furthermore, there was a huge delay, so the whole event was postponed by an entire day. Here is a statement of MiTH's team manager Sarindhorn 'JinNy' Wanothayarnchai.Statement by Sarindhorn 'JinNy' Wanothayarnchai:Today, the timetable actually asked us to come at 10am. We prepared everything and came. But until now, it's 6pm already, everything (the tournament setup) still hasn't finished. At least they should have [set up] yesterday and prepared everything. [...] We feel very disappointed, because we came from Thailand, we bought tickets and everything. We went to so many countries, but this is the very first time we feel very bad and very disappointed with a competition. At least the MiTH's DotA team won themselves a prize money of $7,333, however considering the circumstances of this event, it isn't certain that they will retrieve this money. As Valve's very busy employees are working hard to polish the current Dota 2 beta into a full, releasable game, the already not-so-small community consisted of beta invitees seems to be really enthusiastic with providing extra motivation for that labor.Ever since the beta was released, it was already obvious to everyone that the competitions will not stop with The International, as other tournaments and leagues were slowly coming up. This was already a big deal, since no beta game has ever made such an impact on the competitive gaming scene, especially considering it is actually a closed beta. Of course, expanding the user-base with quite a lot of new invites made it a bit less closed, but in no way could it reduce the awe created by the aforementioned fact.Even with this, one would say, satisfying indication of great success for the game's full release and the creators behind it, the excitement doesn't look like it will plump any time soon, as announcements of even greater tournaments and leagues with even bigger prizes are flooding the gaming news sites. It is natural to assume that the more-than-probable huge success of Dota 2 is making organizers and tournament managers try to get in on the action and make a name for themselves as early on as possible. One thing is sure - the scene is being filled with chances to compete and win prizes, as each week goes by, and as we get closer and closer to the pinnacle of all tournaments, the International 2.Here's a list of some of the just recently announced online as well as offline Dota 2 competitions, in random order (some of these have already started):ProDota2 League"Pro": $10,000 $6,000 $4,000"Non-pro": $5,000 $3,000 $2,000GosuLeague $750 $500 $250M5.Dota2 Open $1,000 $350 $200 4th $150 RAZER INVITATIONAL SHOWCASE 2012 $2,000 USD + Hardware prizes2nd - 4th: Hardware prizes4PL Play4Dota2 500€DREAMHACK VALENCIA 2012Prizes yet to be declaredEvoSport ProLeague €1,000 €500 €250Let's hope the tempo will continue and the competition between teams will get all the more gritty and allow everyone to prove their worth in equal terms, as well as receive tangible awards for all the time and effort (and, of course, skill) invested in their game.
Carlsbad, Calif. – April 1st, 2012 – Razer™, one of the world’s pioneering supporters of e-Sports, lover and stoic patron of competitive cellular telephone gaming in competitive titles such as Robot Unicorn and Angry Birds, has decided with recent events to conceive a brand new mobile gaming division to win ALL the major international tournaments. With the sensational news that major international tournaments would now be advocating mobile phone competitive gaming (being dubbed, ‘m-Sports’) instead of PC gaming, Team Razer jumped at the opportunity to champion this new and exhilarating branch of electronic sports by creating, training and nurturing its first ever competitive cell phone team – awesome, right? “There was a point in my life that I realised as I got older my reflexes were getting sharper. Now with the help of Razer, I am able to live my dream and become a professional tele gamer,” said Toby “TobiWanKenobi” Dawson, Chief Diversity Officer and Team Manager. “While shoutcasting is an important part of my life, being a gamer is the strongest of all callings, and now I can do that anywhere in the world and this is one call I will not answer alone. Our conference must be called.” Having already embarked on a heavy training regime at a location which cannot be disclosed, the newly formed m-Sports team of mobile elites will undertake brutal training hours, little food, and an unquestionable love of competitive gaming on their mobile phones, ready to participate in any and all major international tournaments. The MLG Spring Season is upon us. MLG has just released new information about the Spring season including new price points. MLG has also announced that the spot they will be doing the Arenas will still be in New York, but they said there will be more room.Click link to enlargeThey have given Gold members an amazing price point and a great deal of $30 for full access to all events. Sundance and the MLG crew really did great with this. The Winter Arena was highly questioned for its $20 pass to view it, with that being said many reviews including mine were extremely pleased with the content given for just $20. This season of competition should be a really great way to kick off the 2nd quarter of eSports action. Kudos to Sundance and all of MLG for being able to offer a small price, but keep the content levels to a high that they achieved in the Winter Season.
